We strictly do not create any content using AI. Being independent, we're not owned by a parent conglomerate pushing us to sell, sell, sell, create clickbait or tow the party line. We're honest in our assessments.

Alex has been passionate about the mountains for the last 15 years, during which time this love has bordered on obsession. Starting out as a plucky, Wainwright bagging hillwalker, he soon developed a love for all things scrambling, then winter adventures in Scotland. Alpine ambitions nudged him to work on his climbing skills, while his underlying love of running meant that he'd soon rather be moving at speed than plodding along.
He’s a qualified UK Mountain Leader, former President of the London Mountaineering Club and still enjoys nothing more than escaping into the hills, along with spending time with his young family. An expert on outdoor gear and routes, he's written for komoot, Advnture.com, Country Walking Magazine, Trail Magazine, UKHillwalking, Outdoors Magic, Base Magazine, Lakeland Walker and others in his time.
His favourite mountains are Tryfan, Blencathra, Liathach and the Matterhorn (everyone has favourite mountains right?). He founded Mountain Lines to share inspiration with others, to scratch a constant creative itch, and to still his restlessness.
